How Long Do UV Lashes Last in Florida Humidity?
Here's the short answer: UV lash extensions are made for Florida weather. The UV adhesive cures instantly under an LED lash lamp, and heat, humidity and weather changes affect it much less than traditional lash glue. Your extensions still shed along with your natural lashes, so plan a refill every 2 to 3 weeks to keep your set looking full. If your lashes grow slowly, your lash tech may let you stretch to 4.
Below, we cover why humidity is tough on regular glue, what makes UV lashes different, and how to get the most wear out of every set.
Why Florida humidity is tough on regular lash glue
Traditional lash glue is heavily affected by humidity and temperature, so retention can drop when the weather shifts or when you travel. Now picture a typical South Florida week: beach days, pool days, sweaty workouts and heat that sticks around. That's a lot to ask of a glue that reacts to the air around it.
What makes UV lashes different
The extensions are the same. The difference is the glue and how it cures. We use a special UV adhesive that sets under an LED lamp, instead of curing by reacting to moisture in the air. We were the first to bring this service to South Florida, and here's what it means for you:
- Water resistant from day one. Shower, sweat, swim and hit the beach right after your appointment.
- Oil resistant. Oily skin can shorten the wear of regular glue. UV adhesive holds up better against natural skin oils, so many clients with oily skin see less lash loss.
- Better retention when the weather changes. UV adhesive is much less affected by humidity and temperature, so your set keeps up with Florida and with your travel plans.
- Latex-free and gentle. Many clients with glue sensitivities find it more comfortable. If you have sensitive eyes or a history of reactions, tell us before your appointment so we can go over your options.

So how long does a set actually last?
Each extension is attached to one natural lash. Natural lashes shed and regrow on their own cycle, so a few extensions leave with them over days and weeks. That's completely normal, and it's why you'll see some gaps between fills, even with UV glue. Results vary from person to person.
What isn't typical is losing most of your extensions within the first 3 days. If that happens, contact us right away so we can take a look and fix it.
To keep your set full, refills are priced by how long it's been since your last visit:
- 2-week refill (within 15 days): $90
- 3-week refill (within 22 days): $115
- 4-week refill (within 29 days): $130, for clients whose lash tech confirms their lashes grow slowly enough
If you wait longer, you may need extra time, an upgraded refill or a new full set, depending on how many lashes you've kept. Refills are booked with the same lash tech, which keeps your retention consistent.
How to make your UV lashes last longer
UV glue does the heavy lifting, but a little care at home goes a long way:
- Keep them groomed. Every set comes with a complimentary lash spoolie and brush.
- Keep them clean. Our gentle lash shampoo, sold at the spa, helps keep lashes clean and long-lasting between fills.
- Skip oil-based products around your eyes. They can still shorten wear, even with UV glue.
- Go easy on heavy steam. Too much steam can shorten wear too.
- Hands off. Rubbing or picking at your lashes shortens their life.
- Arrive with clean lashes and no heavy eye makeup, so every appointment starts with the best possible bond.
Bonus: you can skip mascara and the lash curler, because your lashes stay lifted, full and defined every day. Not ready for extensions? A lash lift and tint gives your natural lashes about 6 weeks of curl.
Your first UV set
A full set takes about 2 to 2.5 hours, and up to 3 hours for first-time clients. We never rush it. Each eye has well over 100 natural lashes, and your artist isolates every one, choosing a length and thickness your natural lashes can comfortably carry. New clients get their first full set for $115.
Our studio in Margate is close to Coral Springs, Coconut Creek, Tamarac, Parkland and North Lauderdale, and it's a beautiful place to spend a couple of hours of me-time.
FAQ
Can I swim right after getting UV lashes?
Yes. UV adhesive cures instantly under the LED lamp, so you can shower, sweat, swim and go to the beach right after your appointment.
Does Florida humidity make UV lashes fall out faster?
Humidity and temperature affect UV adhesive much less than traditional glue. You'll still see natural shedding, which is why we suggest a refill every 2 to 3 weeks.
Is it normal to lose some lashes between fills?
Yes, natural lashes shed regularly. Losing most of your extensions in the first 3 days is not typical, so contact us right away if that happens.
Can you refill lashes done at another studio?
No, we don't refill sets applied by another studio. Book a full set with us and your lash tech will take it from there.
